ROCKIN' with photographer--and now publisher--Jay Blakesberg

Jay Blakesberg finally got his copy of ROCKIN', the second day into the New Year. Our schedules just hadn't meshed until today.

His Tom Waits photo-story essay (pages 156-157) is absolutely one of ROCKIN's highlights (see photo above). I knew it would be a great addition the moment I first spotted the story on Jay's website, www.blakesberg.com.

Jay also contributed the opening half-title photo of Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakam, and other fine photos scattered about the book.

Jay's now a publisher (!) as well as an esteemed commercial and rock & roll lensman. All you Dead Heads out there are likely to have on your bookshelf BETWEEN THE DARK AND LIGHT. Now, his first major title under his Rock Out Books imprint was released this Fall--SAN FRANCISCO LOVE AFFAIR, THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF GENE WRIGHT. It's done very, very well and should be a staple in all Bay Area bookstores for years to come. Check out www.rockoutbooks.com for all the offerings.

Thanks Jay for playing a major role in ROCKIN'.
